JC Wings Sets its “Phaser” to Stun

JC Wings 1:72 scale Libyan Air Force Sukhoi Su-22 “Fitter” Fighter-Bomber – Gulf of Sidra, Libya, August 1981

While Hobby Master adheres to a monthly releases schedule, and Corgi now announces new products on a trimester basis, JC Wings typically unveils new items in so-called “phases” that aren’t tied to hard-and-fast dates on the calendar but rather hit the market in incremental stages. Phase 16, as they refer to it. has now been officially unveiled and, from what we hear, will likely reach the North American market in either January or February. Interestingly, their latest wave will come with metal display stands, although these will be packaged separately and may not be available in large numbers following the product’s initial roll out. Think of them as a bonus for early purchasers who would gladly accept the freebie when other makers bundle with their aircraft but bump up their prices include them.

No matter, we’ve curated their lineup and are now accepting pre-orders for the following items:

JC Wings 1:72 scale USAF General Dynamics F-16C Viper Fighter – 121st Fighter Squadron “Capital Guardians”, 113th Fighter Wing, Joint Base Andrews, Camp Springs, Maryland, 2011
JC Wings 1:72 scale US Navy Vought A-7E Corsair II Attack Aircraft – VA-86 “Sidewinders”, 1972
JC Wings 1:72 scale Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force Grumman F-14A “Alicat” Fleet Defense Fighter – Iran, 2014

JC Wings Does a Head Fake

JC Wings 1:72 scale US Navy Boeing F/A-18C Hornet Strike Fighter – VFA-42 “Marauders,” 2004

A couple of weeks back, rumors began swirling that JC Wings was planning on making a F/A-18 based upon the latest Top Gun: Maverick film. Images were even circulated although nothing firm was announced by the manufacturer nor was anything said through their social media accounts. Thus far, we aren’t sure if the rumors are true so we’ll just assume they are that for the moment. What we do know is that late yesterday the manufacturer did show off their latest additions to their aerial arsenal, all of which are expected to take wing in the fall. Here now what you can lay claim to in a few months time:

JC Wings Jumps on the Ukrainian Band Wagon

JC Wings 1:72 scale Ukrainian Air Force Sukhoi Su-27 “Flanker” – 831st Tactical Aviation Brigade, 2016

In a move that comes as no surprise to anyone, be it wily collectors or the eager trade, JC Wings has decided to offer yet another model based upon an aircraft that has taken part in the current Russo-Ukrainian Conflict. Previously they had offered a MiG 29 in a digitized winter camouflage scheme, which was released just prior to the start of the invasion. Naturally, these sold out almost immediately and we’re certain another version will soon make its way onto their release schedule. In the mean time, they have just unveiled a Su-27 in a scintillating horizon blue paint scheme, which will no doubt become another heavily sought after model upon release. The balance of their latest military hardware has now been posted to our site.

JC Wings Continues to Soar

JC Wings USAF Vought A-7D Corsair II Attack Aircraft – 354th Tactical Fighter Wing, 1972 (1:72 Scale)

Over the last few months, we’ve slowly been building out our JC Wings military diecast aircraft section aimed at reflecting some of their newest warbirds looking to take wing. Earlier today, we added a batch of new models that were first announced back in September but, for various reasons, we had to wait until December to list properly. Currently we do not have firm release dates for any of these models, so we are assuming they’ll reach us some time this spring, which of course, could change if the issues with the supply chain haven’t been remedied. Anyway, here now the latest models added to our catalog:

JC Wings US Navy Grumman F-14D Tomcat Fleet Defense Fighter – VF-2 “Bounty Hunters”, 2002 [Low-Vis Scheme] (1:72 Scale)

New Line: JC Wings

JC Wings 1:72 scale USAF Boeing F-15C Eagle Multi-Role Fighter – 194th Fighter Squadron, 75th Anniversary, 2018 [Anniversary Scheme]

We’ve made the decision to stock a new line of 1:72 scale diecast military aircraft: JC Wings. Frankly, we’ve had our eye on this particular range for a very long time but haven’t had the chance to add them to our burgeoning product portfolio nor the room to stock their models until very recently. We’ve placed our opening order with our distributor, who hasn’t, as yet, provided a firm release date for any of these new introductions, although we’re presuming they will likely come to market some time later this summer. I did want to make mention that none of the JC Wings military aircraft comes with display stands, although separate display stands can be obtained from other sources.
