When you combine legendary panzer ace, Michael Wittmann, with a finely detailed Tiger I tank, you get a winning combination that is sure to wow the collector crowd. And that’s exactly what The Collectors Showcase had in mind when they announced an all-new, limited edition 1:30 scale Tiger I tank based upon a steed he commanded in the winter of 1943-’44 (CS00648). Due out some time in October and with a limited run of just 150 pieces, the Wittmann ‘S04’ Tiger could likely set a sales record as word spreads regarding its release and the holiday season approaches.

New R/C Military Vehicle Line to be Stocked

We’re stoked to report a new line of 1:16 scale preassembled radio controlled military vehicles will be available in time for the holiday season. Based upon the Heng Long line of R/C tanks, the TaiGen line is, essentially, a premium line of all-metal vehicles that feature metal caterpillar tracks, a metal gearbox, BB-firing AirSoft capability and even a simulated smoke generator. Several vehicles will form the nucleus of the range, including a Tiger I, M41 Bulldog, Panther medium tank and M26 Pershing. Pricing starts at around $219.99 and goes up from there based upon the vehicle type and onboard features. We should have all of the listings up on our site shortly and will begin to immediately accept pre-orders.

Aviation 72 Puts More Planes in the Pattern

Just when we were beginning to wonder if Aviation 72 was a serious contender in the diecast aviation space comes word that a photo of their latest entry has now been posted. Originally expected some time in 2013, it now appears as if their RAF Scottish Aviation Bulldog 120/121 Trainer Aircraft may make it in time for the holidays (AV7225001). Two of their other replicas have already arrived, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this one will join their brethren on the store shelves.

Earlier today we were able to post all of the new January releases planned by Hobby Master. Among the notable new offerings is this 1:48 scale replica of “Big Beautiful Doll”, perhaps one of the most iconic replicas to arise from the WWII conflict in Europe. piloted by John Landers, he is credited with downing 12-1/2 aircraft, making him one of the most feared aces on the USAAF roster.

Ever since they started producing military vehicles, the hottest selling item in the Collectors Showcase stable has been the Tiger I heavy tank. Capitalizing on its success and using the Chicago Toy Soldier Show as a backdrop, the Company is announcing the newest addition to its arsenal: a Tiger I heavy tank employed by the Deutsches Afrika Korps at the tail end of the North African campaign. Painted in a ferocious desert sand camouflage pattern and equipped with two figures, this newest vehicle is slated for an October roll out, and happily carries a pre-order price of just $161.99. $179.99 if you wait until it starts to ship. Only 100 pieces are being produced, guaranteeing it will be snapped up quickly by collectors world over.

Dragon Introduces a New Line of Premium Vehicles

Looking to stay on top of the 1:72 heap, Dragon today showed off a new line of military vehicles they are calling Ultimate Armor. According to their web site:

“Ultimate Armor series is a new line-up of Dragon Armor, featuring unusual and rare vehicle types such as the first one Flakpanzer V “Coelian” presented here. Those unique items will cater to the demands of discerning collectors. Many such rare fighting-vehicles will come up.”

The first vehicle in the line is a Flakpanzer V “Coelian” (DRR60590) which never saw service but nevertheless was intended to augment Germany’s armored forces as a means of warding off low-flying enemy aircraft. Dragon is indicating a November ship for this intriguing item, which will carry a retail price of $39.99.
