Bauer Says, “I’ll See you in September”
We’ve learned that Heinrich Bauer’s latest creation, a 1:12 scale replica of a 1:934 Mercedes-Benz 500K Roadster, is now expected to roll off of the assembly line some time in September (#BAUMB500K). This is easily one of their most ambitious works of art, hand-assembled from over 1,95o separate parts, and no doubt the jewel in any classic car collector’s diecast collection. Keep in mind, these beautiful renditions take time to build and finish, hence the lengthy delay since being first announced way back in April 2011.

Corgi Embarks Upon its Bomber Campaign
In what can only be viewed as good news for bomber aficionados, Corgi has confirmed the imminent arrival of its 1:72 scale B-17 Flying Fortress and Bf 108G-6 mega pack. Originally slated for a fourth quarter releases, this unique combination set is scheduled to arrive at Corgi’s facility on the 22nd, which means we should have our allocation by the end of August (#AA39915).
In related news, their humongous 1:72 scale Avro Vulcan bomber has also been moved up on the release schedule, and is now expected in the September/October time frame (#AA27201).
Both of these sets are truly massive, and, as such, are ineligible for any free shipping discounts we ordinarily offer. On the plus side, you can still pre-order either of these heavies using our 15% off discount.
Hobby Master Places its Wares Beneath the Christmas Tree
As is customary with Hobby Master, the Company has announced its next batch of upcoming products, all of which are intended to ship before the holiday season ends. We’ve posted the entire list of new vehicles and aircraft in our August 2013 New Additions section so pre-order to your hearts content.
The Motor Pool’s Amazon Store Launch
As part of our strategy to expand our online presence, we’ve recently christened our brand new Amazon affiliate store dubbed The Motor Pool Diecast (go figure, someone already took The Motor Pool). Presently, we’re still working out some of the technical issues that come with new technology and unfamiliar selling techniques, so the store is bare bones and due for a facelift shortly. Still, we wanted to make sure that we offered our complete product portfolio to Amazon’s huge and increasingly more important crowd and provide them with the very same service we currently offer to shoppers that frequent our regular store as well as our ebay and Facebook satellite stores. Look for further information regarding this new venture in the days and weeks to come.

USPS Changes Effective July 28th, 2013
The US Postal Service initiated several important changes to their shipping options and services on July 28th, 2013, which now includes free insurance of up to $50 for domestic shipments. Other changes included offering day-specific shipping times for domestic shipping as well as the renaming of Express Mail to Priority Express. Currently, our web hosting solution is reviewing all of the changes made by the USPS and hopes to update our system by Monday, July 29th. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you understand that any changes need to be fully tested before being deployed en masse.
Panzerstahl Adds More Muscle to its Lineup
Quiet for several months, we were beginning to wonder if Panzerstahl had anything in the works for the back half of 2013. Well, according to our latest information, the Company intends to offer a limited edition 1:72 scale Jagdpanzer E-100 “Krokodil” (Crocodile) heavy tank destroyer this fall (#PS89005). Heavily requested by the World of Tanks online gaming community, the E-1oo is another one of those vehicles that were still in the design and testing phase in the closing months of WWII, developed as part of Germany’s standardized munitions program. Resembling an upgunned Jagdpanther, the Krokodil would have been a fearsome adversary for any tanker to encounter, capable of destroying any tank at great distances on the battlefield. Look for this new vehicle some time in September.
In other news, we’ve learned that Panzerstahl is in the process of creating other “end point” line terminating vehicles for the World of Tanks community. Expected later this fall will be a Russian IS-7 Stalin heavy tank, an experimental vehicle that never made it into production when it was debuted in 1948 (#PS89006). Like the Krokodil, the IS-7 will be a limited edition release but will not be packaged in their iconic metal tin outer container.
