Hobby Master is continuing to announce new tooling for early 2015, beefing up its aerial armada with a pair of 1:48 scale Hawker Hurricane Mk. I fighters that saw action in the waning days of 1940 (HA8601 and HA8602).

Air Commander Takes Wing

SONY DSC

Newcomer Air Commander has unveiled pictures for their upcoming pair of 1:72 scale McDonnell F-4 Phantom fighter-bombers. Based upon a pair of aircraft that served aboard USS Midway (CV-41) in the 1960s, the Company promises to deliver hyper-realistic interpretations of the famed warplanes, including etched panel lines, stenciling, tampo-printed insignia, opening cockpits, interchangeable landing gear, and a fully array of air-to-air and air-to-ground ordnance (#AC1002 and AC1003). Look for the duo to be catapulted onto the marketplace some time in October.

When One Falls, Another Rises

With the discontinuation of the X-Plus Heavy Metal Collection of diecast military aircraft, comes news that a new model maker is poised to take their place. According to reports surfacing around the web, Air Commander Heavy Metal Collection has sprung up to fill the void, and will likely pick up where its predecessor left off. We hear that a 1:72 scale F-4 Phantom is in the works, which comes as no surprise since the designer of the X-Plus F-4 Phantoms is behind the Air Commander version.

We hope to have more concrete information concerning this new development in the week ahead and will post the information just as soon as it becomes move evident.
