Hobby Master Hears Ya

HA4502

Perhaps its growing competition from Air Force 1 or possibly the steady decline in oil prices, but Hobby Master has taken the bold step of reducing the retail prices of several of their forthcoming aircraft. All of their F-15s, including the one we recently received (HA4501), now sell for $99.99, which drops them below the so-called price resistance barrier of $100.

HA4601

Likewise, all of the F-35s have been lowered to $82.99, down a few bucks that puts them on more equal footing with the Air Force 1 offerings. Hopefully, this may signal the willingness of several diecast manufacturers to begin lowering their prices which will spur sales and gain added collectors.

Hobby Master: Ever Vigilant for the Vigilante

HA4701

A couple of weeks ago, we reported that speculation was running wild concerning rumors that Hobby Master was planning on building and deploying a fleet of North American A-5 Vigilante strike bombers. Well, we can put those rumors to rest because earlier today our distributor confirmed that the first 1:72 scale look at the Vigilante is slated for a June release (#HA4701). Based upon a RA-5C that served aboard the USS Kitty Hawk, their first look at this short-tenured, Cold War-era strike bomber is being met with eager anticipation, and will no doubt be followed up with other variants and liveries in the months ahead.

Hobby Master: Ever Vigilant(e)?

Vigilante

According to one popular diecast collector forum, Hobby Master intends to produce 1:72 scale replicas of the North American A-5 Vigilante Nuclear Strike Bomber. Deployed aboard several aircraft carriers during the 1960s, the Vigilante saw extensive service during the Vietnam War in the tactical strike reconnaissance role. If the rumor can be substantiated, it appears as if the Vigilante is scheduled to release in early 2015, with other new carrier-based aviation assets not too far behind.

Hobby Master Strikes Hard this October

HA4501

In what could well be the worst held secret in the diecast military community, Hobby Master confirmed today that they are working on a 1:72 scale replica of the Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle. Designed to waylay the countryside in October, their first ever “Mud Hen” is patterned after a bird that flew with the 391st Fighter Squadron, then deployed to Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, during 2012 (HA4501). Priced at $103.99, the F-15E is substantially higher in price than some of its recent releases, and could signal further price hikes are in the works for newly tooled aircraft.
