With their second 1:18 scale Mullin Automotive Collection introduction expected at any moment, we’ve added a bevy of new 1:18 scale rides of yesteryear to our Minichamps Classic Cars section. While no definitive release dates have been provided by the manufacturer, we nevertheless thought it important to highlight these impeccable resin replicas, which have already become focal points for many a scale model car collector. Several new Delahaye, Talbot Lago and Delage vehicles have now been posted, all of which can be pre-ordered for 15% off their listed prices.
Minichamps
Like Taigen, Minichamps Adds a Tiger to its Tank
At long last, Minichamps 1939 Triumph Tiger 100 (#MIN122133800) is in stock and headed out to everyone that pre-ordered one. Replicated in 1:12 scale and bearing all of the minute detail and engineering skills Minichamps is known for, the Triumph Tiger is a true classic in every sense of the word, and noteworthy companion to their previously released 1939 Triumph Speed Twin. We anticipate brisk sales and, if past records are any indicator, will likely sell out fast once word spreads that it’s finally in stock.
MotoGP Set to Taste Some Texas BBQ Next Week
In what could become an important part of the MotoGP circuit, several riders are headed to Texas next week to test out The Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Several key riders will be donning their racing gloves to check out the tracks including Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, and Dani Pedrosa. We anticipate Minichamps will be in attendance too, no doubt capitalizing on the venue to come out with several limited edition bikes some time down the road.
Minichamps: Wayne Rainey Crosses the Finish Line
Sometimes we receive product ahead of schedule, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing in this industry when we sometimes sit on our hands for the better part of several years waiting for the model to materialize. In the case of Minichamps 1:12 scale 1990 Yamaha YZR500 (OW45) GP Motorcycle driven by world champion, Wayne Rainey, this bike wasn’t expected until March and even the manufacturer has yet to post images of his replica bike on their web site. Nevertheless, the bike arrived just as we’re ready to head out of town, so we may have to post images of the scale model after our return from Africa. Pre-ordered bikes have been handed over to our friendly couriers for immediate dispatch.
Minichamps Debuts its Inaugural 1:18 Scale Mullin Automotive
Produced in cooperation with the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard, California, Minichamps’ inaugural 1:18 scale replica is based upon a 1938 Dubonnet Hispano-Suiza H6C Saoutchik Xenia Coupe (#MIN107091020). This stunning recreation features all of the attendant detail you come to expect from this modelmaker, complete right down to the exotic lines and rakish appearance of this timeless classic. Constructed from heavy resin with only 1,002 pieces produced for worldwide consumption, this stunning reproduction is a sight to behold and does the original Dubonnet justice in every possible respect.
Minichamps Paints Up a Storm at Nuremberg
To kick off the festivities at this year’s Nuremberg Toy Fair, Minichamps announced a spate of repaints for its award-winning line up of 1:12 scale motor bikes. Several reintroductions were also debuted, including Ray Petty’s 1960 Norton Manx and their highly coveted 1932 Brough Superior, both of which were sold out for quite some time. The complete list of new introductions has been posted in the February 2013 New Additions section, and it looks like several aren’t too far off from being ready to hit the open road.
A Man Called Marco
Minichamps North America has finally received its share of the Marco Simoncelli shipment of tribute bikes and our coveted rides are on their way to us. Barring a truck hijacking, blizzard, or meteorite shower, we should have our cache of bikes this coming Tuesday, and will be working feverishly to get them all out the door within 24 hours. If you have a new credit card and have this bike on pre-order, now would be a good time to update your records with us so there is no delay in getting out the bike to you.
Minichamps Posts Pix of their Latest Bikes
Even though we haven’t received our allotment yet, that doesn’t mean we cannot share images of Minichamps latest diecast classic motorcycle, their 1958 Triumph TR6 Thunderbird Motorcycle (#MIN122133550). Finished in silver and red, and bearing all the hallmark detail we’ve come to expect from their 1:12 scale bike series, their newest introduction is expected shortly, perhaps as early as mid-January. Close-up photographs were also provided for their Hoda Bol D’Or, which is already in stock and doing well at retail (#MIN122161900).
While we’re on the subject of two-wheeled riding, it appears as if Minichamps has just received their shipment of Marco Simoncelli 2011 Honda RC212V Team San Carlo Honda Gresini MotoGP Test Bikes, which means we should be receiving our share of the winning entry very soon. No doubt, the 2011 racing bike isn’t far behind…
Minichamps Cancels its Military Campaign
Minichamps has confirmed what we had feared for some time now – the cancellation of its eagerly awaited second issue T-72 tank and 7th issue Leopard 2A4 main battle tank. No reason was provided concerning their decision to cancel these subjects, which had been on the books for several years running. Its not clear if this signals the death of Minichamps military vehicle series since these were the only two tanks still to be released and we have yet to see their 2013 program. Please contact us if you prepaid for either of these items using PayPal and are entitled to a refund.
Minichamps Throttles Up Two More Bikes for January
It seems as though Minichamps is getting in gear to release even more new bikes for the coming year. According to their web site, collectors can expect to kick the tires on a 1:12 scale 1978 Honda CB 900 F ‘Bol D’or’ that is finished in blue. Also due out in the New Year is a 1958 Triumph TR6 Tiger awash in a silver and red scheme.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed that other previously hyped bikes aren’t too far behind, most notably their 1955 Vincent Black Lightning and 1948 Vincent HRD Black Lightning with a prostrate Rollie Free figure gripping the handlebars, first announced way back in February 2010.
