Amercom Steps up its Warmaking Capabilities

ACCS21

Several new Amercom diecast military vehicles and helicopters were recently added to our product portfolio, bringing both sections up to robust levels. On the ground, several key introductions are being made available including this 1:72 scale M109A6 Paladin self-propelled howitzer and a Russian-liveried T-80 main battle tank.

ACHY40-4

In the air, a British Westland Scout light observation helo and US Navy Seasprite anti-submarine chopper were added to our fleet of rotary wing aircraft, as well as a heavily-requested MH-53 Sea Dragon transport helicopter. The Sea Dragon retails for $34.99 – a bit more than the other helos in the line due to its much larger size and added weight. Look for all of these new introductions some time in February.

War Master Ups the Ante this Fall

WMTK0036

War Master continues to impress, with an ever growing array of diecast military vehicles and aircraft available at very affordable prices. For September, four new vehicles were announced along with a pair of WWII-era military aircraft. For vehicle aficionados, expect an Israeli Merkava Mk. 3 main battle tank (#WMTK0036), US WC 63 weapons carrier with trailer (#WMTK0035), German King Tiger tank (#WMTK0034) and German Jagdtiger tank destroyer (#WMTK0033).

APF0024

If you’ve got your eyes in the clouds, look forward to seeing an US Grumman Avenger torpedo plane (#WMAPF0024) and German Focke Wulf Fw 190A fighter (#WMAPF0023). When you consider the escalating costs of other lines, its nice to see War Master continue to hold the line and not bow to pricing pressures. Bravo!

Corgi Revises its 2013 Release Schedule

AA39915

Previously, we were under the impression that Corgi’s eagerly expected B-17/F Flying Fortress bomber and Bf 109G-6 fighter set were slated for an early 2014 release, however, according to their latest information has been moved up to an October ship (#AA39915). Likewise, their massive 1:72 scale Avro Vulcan strategic bomber has been advanced to a pre-Christmas debut, no doubt terrific news for everyone that hoped to find one under the tree this holiday (#AA27201).

AA27201

On the flip side, no dates have yet been set for their pair of 1:72 scale Swordfish torpedo planes, which was being offered in two configurations. No reason has been given for the indeterminate release so we’re not sure what the hold up is behind their delay (#AA36310). Other aircraft have been pushed up in the schedule while others have been nudged back, so we recommend you peruse our Corgi Aviation Archive section for the latest information

War Master Wages War in January

WMTK021

Originally slated for November, it now appears as if the latest batch of War Master diecast military vehicles and aircraft are penciled in for a January ship. Several intriguing offerings are among the mix, including this US M1128 Stryker Mobile Gun System (#WMTK021).

WMAPF0019

Also up for scrutiny is this Italian Macchi C.202 fighter, an oft-requested item now that they are no longer available from the IXO Models range (#WMAPF0019).

New Line: DeAgostini Military Aircraft

DeAgostini's 1:144 scale German Focke Wulf Fw 200C Heavy Bomber
DeAgostini’s 1:144 scale German Focke Wulf Fw 200C Heavy Bomber

We’re thrilled to announce the imminent arrival of DeAgostini 1:144 scale military aircraft. Much like the old IXO/Altaya range of military aircraft, the DeAgostini line is affordable yet chock full of features, making them wonderful stocking stuffers for the holiday season. Keep in mind that these planes are packaged in blister packs instead of the more traditional boxes, since they were originally designed to be bundled with a military-themed magazine based overseas. Nonetheless, for $20 a pop, you cant go wrong with any of these warbirds, in part because they replicate subjects no one else has done before. Get ’em while the getting is good!
